About

kids on poniesA riding instructor is a whole lot more than someone who teaches riding. They are a continual source of information and guidance, a question answerer and problem solver. Often a riding instructor is a mediator between parent and child, explaining options and finding solutions to the clients’ needs.

A riding instructor guides students through the processes of learning, preparing and competing. She or he teaches you more than how to ride a horse. She teaches you the rules for safety, rules for competition, sportmanship and horsemanship.

The riding instructor helps you prepare for horse ownership by teaching you how to care for  for horses, from cleaning hooves to condiitoning muscles. Your instructor may be the person who helps you choose your horse purchase.

Riding Instructors have an awesome job that is loaded with responsibility. A good instructor can help you on your way to a lifetime of fun and success with horses, while a bad instructor can leave you wishing you’d never tried to ride.

The Riding Instructor web site is to  a resource that will answer questions and provide guidance for instructors, trainers, students and parents in areas that pertain to the horse business, competition, horse care, riding styles, associations and organizations, horse purchase, equipment, books and media and many other horse related areas.

Riding For A Lifetime

by Barbara Ellin Fox Riding is different than most other sports. If a person is taught to ride correctly they can continue this sport for a lifetime. I’ve known many people who continue to ride in their 60s, 70s, and 80s and a few who have continued to ride in their 90s. That’s something that [...]
